Chris possesses over 18 years of experience in the creative and digital space. Currently, Chris leads theDigital practice for Weber Shandwick Southwest, overseeing programs that leverage emerging media technologies. Chris currently oversees strategic leadership direction for clients including American Airlines, Samsung Global, Essilor of America and RadioShack. Early in his career at Weber Shandwick he has assisted General Motors in launching a new social program that integrated social technologies like YouTube and new blog platforms – an industry first at the time. From  2009 to 2012, Chris founded the American Airlines social media program encompassing everything from  social branding to intense customer-service focused social defense. The American Airlines team started as  three people and now has 15 people staffed supported by Weber Shandwick.One of Chris’ specialties is managing risks and reputation at the executive leadership level. This has proven to be a valuable tactic for the Weber Shandwick Digital practice since today brands are closely related with the executive leadership personnel.  He has assisted many top-level executives with managing their personas online, including executive social defense as necessary. As the lead on the Digital Innovation team, Chris partners with key digital and social platforms to identify  new communication strategies for brands. He has led strategic partnerships with Facebook, Google and YouTube for our global brands.Prior to joining Weber Shandwick, Chris managed interactive strategy at BBDO, RouteOne and Team Detroit (formerly Young & Rubicam). Chris’ client experience is vast, having served the digital needs of companies like General Motors, Chrysler, Ford Motor Company, Kmart and Heineken.@chrisvary
